Kelowna RCMP are looking for information to assist on a seemingly random late night attack that occurred just before midnight on Friday, October 12th. An adult female walking in the Elliott Avenue / Richter Street area was attacked after being followed for several blocks by an unknown male. The man had spoken casually to her along the way, and the woman had not felt threatened. It’s reported that suddenly the suspect chased after the woman, tackled her and dragged her to a property on the 2000 block of Richter Street. The woman fought and managed to escape, running to the street where a passing vehicle stopped to help the distraught victim, taking her to the RCMP Detachment. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, possibly part Filipino, in his early 20’s with a medium build and shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing all black or dark-coloured clothing and was riding a skate board, which was abandoned near the scene. Police ask anyone who has video surveillance in the Lawrence Avenue, Richter Street and Cadder Avenue areas to review it and contact investigators if they find footage that may be valuable. If you know who the suspect may be, you can remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.
